Vindi Banga is the Senior Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of GlaxoSmithKline plc, a Partner at the private-equity firm Clayton Dubilier & Rice, a Non-Executive Director of the “Economist” newspaper and a member of the Hakluyt International Advisory Board. He sits on the Governing Board of the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and the Global Leadership Council of the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and is a member of the Indo UK CEO Forum. He is Chair of the Board of Trustees for Marie Curie.
Vindi spent 30 years with Unilever plc and became President of Global Foods, Home and Personal Care, and a member of the Unilever Executive Board. He has been President of Unilever Asia as well as Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Unilever’s listed company in India.
In public companies, he is on the Board of GSK plc, and has been Senior Independent Director of M&S plc and Non-Executive Director of Thomson Reuters and Maruti Suzuki.
He has been Chair of the Supervisory Board of Mauser GMBH and Kalle GMBH, and a Director of Diversey, High Ridge Brands and B&M in the privately owned sector.
He has led ESG for Unilever and currently leads this for CD&R.
Vindi sat on the Prime Minister of India’s Council of Trade & Industry from 2004 to 2014, and served on the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), He has been a Non-Executive Director of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI).
