Paula Rosput Reynolds is Chairman of National Grid plc, an experienced Board member and seasoned Senior Executive. She is a member of the Board of BP plc and General Electric Co., and also Chairs the Remuneration Committee at BP. Paula is the Chair of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and is Trustee Emeritus and former Chair of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, the leading cancer research center in the Western US. She was previously a Board member of BAE Systems plc and chaired the Remuneration Committee.
Paula is the former Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Safeco Corp., a Fortune 500 insurer that was acquired by Liberty Mutual Insurance Group in 2008. Upon the sale of Safeco, Paula served as Vice Chairman and Chief Restructuring Officer at American International Group (AIG). Before joining Safeco, Paula was an Executive in the energy industry. She served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of AGL Resources, a Fortune 1000 Atlanta-based energy-services holding company that has subsequently been acquired by Southern Co. Early in her career, Paula was an Executive at Duke Energy Corp. and PG&E Corp.
Paula has served as a Director of several other international firms in a variety of industries, and was the recipient of the National Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Corporate Directors.
Paula graduated with highest honours from Wellesley College. She and her husband, Stephen P. Reynolds, are Principals in PreferWest, LLC, a family investment office. They are also actively involved in musical theatre and are co-producers of “Come From Away”, an Olivier Award-winning musical, which pre-Covid was running in the West End and on Broadway and touring internationally.
