David Jiménez-Blanco is Vice Chairman of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, Chairman of the Madrid Stock Exchange and Chairman of Gawa Capital Partners SGEIC, SA. He is also an Independent Board Member of SIX Group AG (the owner and operator of the Swiss and Spanish Stock Exchange) and of Arima Real Estate SOCIMI SA, and a Member of the Board of Trustees at Fundacion Pablo Horstmann.
David is passionate about sustainable long-term development. In addition to being a founder of impact investment firm Gawa Capital Partners, he has served as Chief Restructuring and Strategy Officer at Abengoa, a global engineering and construction company involved in renewable energy, water and sustainable infrastructure.
Previously, David had been Group CFO for World Duty Free Group, where he led its listing on the Milan Stock Exchange in October 2013. Prior to that, David co-founded BK Partners, an alternative investment manager, focused on direct investments in real estate and renewable energy in Mexico.
David served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets España, S.A., S.V. and was Head of Global Markets and Investment Banking for Spain and Portugal. Prior to Merrill Lynch David worked at Goldman Sachs International, in various positions in London and Madrid.
David's previous board experience includes Independent Board Member at Axiare Patrimonio, SOCIMI, SA, Atento Inversiones y Teleservicios (a Telefonica group company) and as a Member of the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain.
