Professional experience from various positions within DuPont, where Chad started his career as an engineer in manufacturing. He was Chief Executive Officer of DuPont from 1998 to 2008, and Chairman from 1999 to 2009.
Under Chad’s leadership, DuPont established a goal of achieving sustainable growth – increasing shareholder and societal value while simultaneously decreasing DuPont’s environmental footprint. As a result, DuPont has shifted from being a chemical company to being a science-based products and services company. He has a deep understanding of international strategic, commercial and environmental issues, and gained extensive experience in the areas of safety and risk management during his time with DuPont.
He has previously served as Chairman of the Bank of America Corp., The Business Council, Catalyst, the National Academy of Engineering, the Society of Chemical Industry (American Section) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. He is a founding member of the International Business Council.
