Birger Magnus is currently the Chairman of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corp. and is a Board member of Harvard Business Publishing. He is also Chairman of Working Group Two AS, a JV between Cisco and Telenor ASA. He is also the Chairman of high-growth companies in the digital arena including the start-ups Oda, Xeneta AS And Spond AS.
As Chairman and Non-Executive Director in sectors such as energy, insurance, shipping and airlines, Birger has been leading digital-transformation programmes in established industries and has hands-on experience with digital start-up and growth companies.
He served as the Chairman of Storebrand ASA, Chairman of Hafslund ASA, Chairman of Statoil Fuel and Retail ASA, Vice Chairman and Non-Executive Director of Aschehoug A/S publishing house and a Board member of Scandinavian Airlines Systems (SAS) AB, among other roles.
He was Deputy CEO of the media group Schibsted ASA, and during the 13 years he spent with Schibsted in different leadership roles he worked extensively on the digital-transformation issues that brought Schibsted to the forefront of digital-media business models.
Before joining Schibsted he was the Managing Partner of McKinsey Norway.
