Current Positions

Val Gooding is Senior Independent Director at Vodafone Group and Queen’s Trustee on the Board of Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew.

Industry Knowledge

Val was formerly CEO of Bupa, Chairman of Premier Farnell plc, Chairman of Aviva Insurance UK and a Non-Executive Director of TUI AG,  Standard Chartered Bank plc, J. Sainsbury plc, the BBC,  Compass plc, BAA plc, Cable & Wireless Communications plc, the Lawn Tennis Association and the Home Office. Val was also deputy Chairman at the British Museum.

In her earlier career, Val held a number of senior positions at British Airways.

Val was also member of the Council of Warwick University, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Warwick Business School, and a Board member of both the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and Association of British Insurers, and a Trustee of English National Ballet, and the Rose Theatre.

Sir Tom McKillop was previously CEO of Astra Zeneca, Chairman of the Royal Bank of Scotland and a Non-Executive Director of BP. He is currently Vice-Chairman of Almirall SA, an international pharmaceutical company headquartered in Spain.

Professor Dr Óscar Fanjul

Oscar Fanjul is Vice Chairman at LafargeHolcim and at Ferrovial. He remains Honorary Chairman of Repsol. Oscar Fanjul is currently the Vice Chairman of Omega Capital and is also a Non-Executive Director of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc.

Dr André Lévy-Lang

Dr André Lévy-Lang is the Founder and Chair of Institut Louis Bachelier, a research network, Chairman of Les Echos SAS and a Board member of the Institut Français des Relations Internationales. He was previously CEO of Paribas Group, Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rothschild & Co, a Board member of Rothschild Martin Maurel, a member of the Executive Board of the French Banks Association and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the French Employers Association.
