Dr André Lévy-Lang is the Founder and Chair of Institut Louis Bachelier, a research network, Chairman of Les Echos SAS and a Board member of the Institut Français des Relations Internationales.
Dr André Lévy-Lang was the CEO of the Paribas Group, a position he held until 1999 when Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP) acquired Paribas to create BNP-Paribas. He was also Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rothschild & Co, a member of the Executive Board of the French Banks Association and was Chairman of the Finance Committee of the French Employers Association (MEDEF). He has held Directorships on the Boards of Péchiney SA, Elf Aquitaine SA, Finaxa, Schlumberger Limited, Dexia SA and Assurances Générales de France (AGF, now part of Allianz SE) and SCOR SE.
André began his career with the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (CEA - the French atomic energy commission) then joined Schlumberger Limited where he held various engineering, marketing and management positions in France and the United States.
