Dr Oscar Fanjul

Dr Oscar Fanjul started his career at the industrial holding I.N.I. and has also worked at the Confederación Española Cajas de Ahorros. From 1983 to 1984, he served as Technical Secretary General and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Energy.

Dr Fanjul was the Chairman Founder and CEO of Repsol, and is currently Honorary Chairman of the company. He has previously been Chairman of Hidroeléctrica del Cantábrico, NH Hotels and is currently Vice-Chairman/CEO of Omega Capital.

Board Mandates

Dr Fanjul is a Non-Executive Director of Marsh & McLennan companies, Ferrovial and LafargeHolcim. Dr Fanjul has also been Non-Executive Director of the London Stock Exchange, Unilever, Areva, BBVA and Acerinox.

He is a member of the Trilateral Commission and has been Trustee of the IFRS Foundation, and a member of the Competitiveness Advisory Group to the President of the European Commission.

Dr Fanjul is a Trustee of the Amigos del Museo del Prado Foundation, of the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Empresa (IESE) and of the Centro de Estudios Monetarios y Financieros (CEMFI).
